Overview
Interventional cardiology represents advanced training in cardiovascular disease and focuses on invasive (usually catheter-based) management of heart disease. An interventional cardiologist is a cardiologist with one to two years of additional education beyond residency and fellowship in which they receive additional training in cardiovascular disease and focuses on invasive management of heart disease.
